Ken Kesey and The Merry Pranksters discovered this unique painting technique high on LSD in 1964 while traveling across the United States in the psychedelic bus Further (or Furthur). The bus got stuck in the mud in Arizona right...so they took their first LSD of this famous "trip" (as written about by Tom Wolfe in the Electric Kool-Aide Acid Test). They frolicked in the creek bed and played in the puddles while waiting for help getting the bus out of the mud. Some oil paint was dripped into one of the puddles of water...and ohhh...it looked goooood as it floated and spread on top of the water...so they added other colors. Soon they had mixed and swirled many colors together till it was quite psychedelic then they decided to dip objects into the melee...and discovered "PRANKSTER ART"!!!

This painting technique was used to creating individually unique hand made backgrounds of swirling psychedelic art onto sturdy white boards.  Then  Acid Test and Prankster designs from throughout the years were silkscreened onto the boards over these psychedelic backgrounds.

Then each piece of art was framed with a personally hand made, equally psychedelic painted frame. As a final touch some of the local Merry Pranksters added their John Hancocks to this special item.
